DONATIONS & TRANSPARENCY

We provide the services of the Fediverse Foundation on a voluntary basis in our free time, free of advertising and tracking. We offer our services to all users free of charge. If you would like to support us, you can do so in the form of a voluntary donation. The money is primarily used to cover domain, server, electricity and hardware costs.

SERVER RULES

You can find the rules a little further down in the "Rules" section or directly in our wiki in the server rules section of our instances (de/en).

Age restriction / Minors

To use our services, you must be at least 14 years old. See also the Data Protection Amendment Act 2018.

No AI / ML regulation

It is prohibited to use data or content from the instances listed below for the training or development of artificial intelligence or machine learning models without the express consent of the copyright holder. Any unauthorized use of data or content for AI/ML purposes will be considered a copyright infringement and may result in legal action.

Moderated languages

Regardless of political orientation, our moderators try to moderate all posts equally and objectively according to our server rules. Of course, this is only possible for languages that we understand - therefore, only German and English are possible as languages on our instances. We reserve the right to restrict or delete messages in other languages if in doubt.

Federation with Meta (Facebook) / Instagram

Our servers have preventatively blocked federation with threads.net. This rule may be changed in the future when we know how threads.net implements federation via ActivityPub and how they respond to reports from the Fediverse.

TECHNICAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL MEASURES

The services of the Fediverse Foundation are operated as a non-profit association and in our free time. We do not generate any income with the offer and finance ourselves through donations and our own funds. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate the service at any time for legal, technical or financial reasons.

Rules

Nothing illegal: Do not post anything illegal (Austrian law / EU law).
Nothing harassing: No spam, trolling, bullying, doxing, or similar annoyances. No calls for hate or violence. No pornography.
Nothing (intentionally) fake: No fake news, misinformation or science denial. No spreading of rumors or propaganda.
Nothing automated: No bots, no crossposting (e.g. mirroring of Twitter posts etc.) without context or other interaction.
Nothing discrimatory: Fediverse instances operated by the Fediverse Foundation are expressly inclusive and open to everyone. Therefore, any form of discrimination is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: ableism, antisemitism, homomisia, islamomisia, classism, racism, sexism, transmisia, etc.
Anti AI/ML clause: It is prohibited to use any data or content from this server for training of or developing any artificial intelligence or machine learning model without obtaining explicit consent from the copyright owner. Any unauthorized use of data or content for AI/ML purposes will be considered a violation of copyright laws and may result in legal action.
